Release/Change Notes for World of RoboFarmCraft   v1.11 (7859) : "Misc improvements & bug fixes"

Notes about upcoming releases at at the end of each release notes forum post.


v1.11 (7818) : "Misc improvements & bug fixes"
    * Submitted to QA: Mar 24, 2016
    * Submitted to Apple for review: Mar 25, 2016
    * Available in the App Store: Apr 1, 2016

NOTE: v1.11 was originally going to be "VIP levels" but (a) some parts of it are more complex than originally thought and (b) folks convinced me that the features, overall, needed additional design work to keep things fun. Hence, those features have been moved forward a couple of updates.

NOTE: v1.10.1 fixed a bug where an early tutorial mission -- Nodes & Power -- could not be completed, hence, the tutorial could not progress. If you're stuck on that mission, just do the steps again, it should complete, now.

NOTE: All of the pieces for background music tracks have been added, but they need more testing. Hence, background music is not in this release.

"Big News" items

    * Lots of miscellaneous improvements (see details below).
    * A few minor bug fixes (details below).

Code changes:

    * bump vsn to 1.11 for development
    * bugzid: 1753 farm-nickname is per-farm, now
    * bugzid: 1736 pick-up-able coins objects (to use as treasure)
    * fix object imageView content mode
    * bugzid: 1706 display learning bonuses
    * fix crash attempting to insert nil targetObject into analytics dict
    * add music player
    * Merge branch 'worfc-v1.10'
    * Fix crashes in background track player
    * Fix deprecations in MFUtils.
    * remove excess debug logging
    * bugzid: 1775 display guild-source of bonus
    * Other crew view tweaks
    * bugzid: 1778 (X) button on left of crew view.
    * chests & robots have inventoryType, for purposes of being in inventory
    * refactor deep-inventory stuff into a category.
    * NOTE: we don't use deep inventory, and probably never will. Making it a category facilitates removal
    * bugzid: 1779 farm-save alert stops signout
    * remove all reference to THIS_IS_BETA flag
    * bugzid: 1782 nodes+power mission can't be completed
    * build# bump for archive
    * add 40-rounded icon
    * Merge branch 'worfc-v1.10'
    * farmFormat 5 => 6
    * fix robots mis-reporting non-template when they are.
    * centralize validation of proposed robot name
    * bugzid: 1784 solder-pen not circuit-safe immediately after select from menu
    * bugzid: 1780 'saving farm' alert blocks daily loyalty bonus, causing hang
    * bugzid: 1716 missions view is bigger
    * bugzid: 1786 sign-out with local farm (casuing farm-saved alert) locks-up
    NOTE: this was fixed via another refactor; the old UIAlertView => UIAlertController became MFAlertControllerWithWindow, which doesn't care what the underlying VC is.
    PLEASE GIVE EXTRA sqa POUNDING in all areas with alerts.
    * don't prevent russ from doing ALL mission-goals; check for russOk flag
    * update timed-object images on become-active
    * fix recover-gates to use the put-away view
    * fix removeFromSuperview
    * fix crashing bug in settings with alternate farm
    * new infrastructure routine to find the end-of-the-line from a chip-pin connector
    * revert chip-logic, removing assert (replace with log)
    * debug logging
    * bugzid: 1790 crew view is blank

Content changes:

    * bugzid: 1736 add coinsItem and images
    * rename song => track-1
    * add music.plist
    * bugid: 1776 powerups given as loyalty bonus that aren't in the plist
    * start farm farmFormat 4 => 5
    * add icon-40-rounded
    * bugzid: 1781 nodes&power mission wording cleanup
    * mission wording tweaks
    * fix plasti-shred seed output (100:100)

Server changes:

    * log money transactions (preparation for removing from DB)

NOTE: "The List" is updated to keep up with user feedback; your feedback matters! Everything that we've previously talked about is still "on the list", though "early user experience", "social features" and "less obstreperous game-play/UI" are being prioritized.

Plans for upcoming releases as of Mar 7, 2016:

v1.12: Misc/Wishlist.

v1.13: Crews (phase 2) + VIP infrastructure.

v1.14: Focus on "first 10 minutes" user experience + VIP levels.

v1.15: Massa-bot services and other fun ways to spend your gold.

"Eventually" ("Soon!"??): WoRFC on Apple-TV.

vFuture: 100s of great ideas that I need to sort into planned releases and then release them.
